In memory of
Harold Edwin Peterson
8-31-1916 to 10-11-1990
Harold was born August 30, 1916. His
birth was recorded on the following day, and the birth certificate gives his
birthdate as
August 31, 1916. He was born in North
Dakota, probably Finley, or Grand forks. He had an older sister, Agnes, and an
older
brother, Egbert.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps as
an enlisted man, but on completion of O.C.S. he was commissioned as a second
lieutenant. He completed flight training at Eagle Pass, Texas in the early 1940s.
Harold was a good father, and
husband to Irma (Johnson). He was a devout Lutheran, and attended church on a
very regular
basis.
His children, from oldest to
youngest are Terry, Dale, and Gloria.
When Irma
was pregnant with Dale, they lost everything in the Vanport
flood of 1948. The Vanport
