Thursday 11-21-13
It’s a week before thanksgiving. I usually visit Food Maxx and try to buy as many five dollar turkeys as possible. If I can get enough, we can have turkey once a month, all year. There’s nothing better, hot off the Barbie! The new policy is, you have to buy fifty dollar’s worth of groceries in order to get a five dollar turkey, so I headed home, on a rainy day, and Denise’s sunflower (in Danny’s yard) caught my eye. Craig brought the table he saved for us, and I caught a shot of him while he was here. (Out of focus L).
The next morning I saw an ad by Target,
turkeys, 99 cents a pound, so I got up immediately, and went and bought two
twenty two pound turkeys. I also stopped at smart and final, and bought a
twelve pounder for John and Suzy, plus some roasting pans.
I caught the dogs laying in the sunshine. Funky shot through the new sliding glass door. It does funny things to the sunlight.
Got some washers to work on the deck. One day
last week, I picked a black widow off my arm, not realising she had bitten me.
The first week was a little shakey, lots of
nausea, and a bump that raised up on my arm, and started to throb. Not knowing
if the venom
damage was bacterial or chemical, I
immediately saturated the area with iodine. I thought it would be interesting
to follow the progression of the effects
of the venom, so I started,(after about
five days) to take a couple pictures every day, to record the event.
I was able to work outside a little, and I
cleaned up Buddy’s grave, and trimmed his rosemary. The rosemary was a
gift from Steve and Kimberly, the
weekend that Buddy died.
It was also time to wrap the pipes,
‘cause the weatherman predicted a hard freeze that would last a week.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
What’s
wrong, dad?
Denise’s piggy shaped meat loaf!
I love my dogs!
Steve and Kimberly came to
visit. Kimberly let me take a picture with no argument J.
Jerritt at work on the computer.
It’s nice to have family on Christmas
day.
Our tree wasn’t fancy, but we did buy a
live tree to plant in the yard.
Happy dogs, bellies full of ham!
That ham!
Once again, I am thankful that we have
plenty, after so many years of having not enough.
It has been some time since
I have written, here. I have been taking a few photos, but haven’t felt
like writing.
I don’t feel like
writing, now, but will add photos to speak for themselves. I will return later
and add to this.
Date stamp incorrect. Should be 2014-1-10.
I’m not sure what this is. It has a tail like a possum, but the face is
wrong????????? It must have been poisoned!

I still don’t feel much like writing,
but………………….I lost my neighbor, John,
last night.
We were expecting rain Saturday night, so I
called Mike, Friday night, and he came Saturday morning. We moved firewood with
the tractor. It was still wet from the last rain, and I even had trouble
getting the tractor out of the barn. It was
squishey and slippery, but we finally got most of the wood moved to the front
and back yards.
I woke up at daylight, Sunday, and I had
caught a possum, during the night.
I made a batch of spaghetti sauce, and while
it was simmering, I got a phone call from Maria Pibb. She told me her father
had passed away Saturday night.
I was speechless, but relieved in a way. It
was so sad the last I saw him. They were taking him away, and I had a sense
that that would be the last time I saw him.
Six bags of composted steer manure.
Chinese apricot
Gala apple
Babcock
peach
Shinseiki pear
D’Anjou pear
Bosc pear
My poor baby worked toooooo hard!
These are from my funky camera. I forgot to
set the date. It should be 2014-2-21. I shot these from the house.
Mike
helped me move firewood.
We got most of it out of the garden area.
The weatherman says we are
getting rain on Wednesday, so I asked Mike if he got time to please help me.
He called me Monday morning,
and offered to move the rest of the firewood.
It took him three hours, but
he got it all moved.
All
gone!!!!
Enough to share! J
2-25
I had planned to turn over
some dirt with my tractor, but Bailey got sick, vomiting. She started
at noon, and continued until
midnight. I didn’t expect her to live through the night.
She did, and I took her to
our vet, who diagnosed her with parvo. Her second night was worse
than the first, and as
miracles would have it, she survived the second night. She went for her second
treatment today, and Buster
went with us. He tested negative for parvo, and he received the vaccine.
I will add Baileys receipt
when I get it, but for now, here is Buster’s.
2-28-14
Sick puppy!
Bailey is soooo out of
it!
Buster is sooooooo worried!
Poor little girl!
Worried little boy!
This is the day for Bailey’s
last treatment. She gets an antibiotic, and a saline
drip. She is so contagious
that we must bring her to the back of the vet’s office.
There is a washing machine
just inside the door. They cover the machine with towels
so they can wash them as
soon as Bailey is finished.
Buster is really worried
about his sister. Too bad humans can’t act like that!
Quick stop at Costco for
gas.
Much needed rain!

Thank you for caring for Bailey. She is doing much better.
When I was in the office the other day, with Buster, you gave me an
invoice for Buster, but not for Bailey.
If you could email to me the estimate, and the final bill
(itemized) I would appreciate having that for my records.
Once again, thank you!
Terry and Denise
Good
morning,
Here are the invoices I have on file for Bailey. We are so happy
to hear she is doing better. Please let us know if we can do anything else for
you :)
Take Care,
Melyssa

Still really sick, panting, and drooling!
Finally feeling better. Back
to normal!
3
Everything is back to normal. This chapter
now contains nearly 500 image files, so it is time to start a new chapter.
Maria Pibb called me and asked me to mow. I
made an attempt, yesterday, but is so wet, the cuttings won’t clear the
deck, and the mower plugs up.
Robert was thinking about doung some chipping
with John’s 5 horse chipper (pencil sharpener). We took the carb and fuel
tank off to clean.
A few beautiful sunset
photos to close!
These sunset photos are from 8-9-2013. They
were trapped in my funky camera. I finally extracted them today! (2-28)
